2024 HOLY WEEK PREPARATION GUIDE FOR REFUGE CHURCH

Use this guide as a way to prepare your hearts and minds as we look towards  Easter. Easter is a time to focus our worship, attention and hearts on Christ. We  will do this by being still, reading scripture, celebrating and adoring Christ  through music. Join us!

March 24

  • BE STILL: Spend 60 Seconds in silence and solitude. Not prayer. Not     planning your day. Just as Psalm 46:10 says: “BE STILL.” 
  • READ: 2 Corinthians 3 & 5 
  • CELEBRATE: What can you celebrate today? What is something that     you can point to and say only God could do that, and He DID! Spend     some time celebrating what God has done to intentionally push back on     cynicism that creeps in. 
  • ADORE: On YouTube/Apple Music/Spotify, look up the song: Living Hope   by Phil Wickham. Find a version with the lyrics included and spend some     time focusing on the lyrics, even singing the song out loud.  

March 25

  • CELEBRATE: Where can you celebrate today? Where is somewhere that     God has shown up, either in the past or present? Spend some time      celebrating what God has done to intentionally push back on cynicism     that creeps in. 
  • ADORE: On YouTube/Apple Music/Spotify, look up the song: His Heart     Beats by Andrew Peterson. Find a version with the lyrics included and     spend some time focusing on the lyrics, even singing the song out loud.

  • CELEBRATE: Who can you celebrate today? Who is someone that God     has or is clearly working on and moving in? Spend some time celebrating    what God has done to intentionally push back on cynicism that creeps in.

  • CELEBRATE: Celebrate your SAVIOR JESUS TODAY! Spend some time     focusing on your salvation and how Jesus found you and saved you!     Recall your story, your salvation, your baptism, as Psalm 51 says reflect     on and pray that you will experience the joy of your salvation. Spend     some time celebrating what God has done to intentionally push back on     cynicism that creeps in.
