“Prayer and praise are the oars by which a man may row his boat into the deep waters of the knowledge of Christ.” - C.H. Spurgeon
Don't waste your summer; learn to pray - together!
This summer we look to make the most of these 10 weeks of the summer by learning how to become better and more faithful at prayer. We are hopeful that God will lead us to new and deeper intimacy with Him during this time. The goal is not necessarily to pray more or for longer periods of time, but to grow closer to Christ as we grow in prayer. We will endeavor to accomplish this in four ways:
Prayer Literature
We will be reading Praying the Bible by Don Whitney. Refuge will have copies available, there are free PDFs online, and the book is only $5 - 6 on Amazon. You have no excuse to not grab a copy and jump in!
Prayer Gatherings
We will gather together in the Chapel to pray as a body on June 18th and July 16th. The kids will be with Ms. Barb having a movie night during this time so childcare is covered! Put these dates on your calendar!
Prayer Groups
There's no better time to be a part of a prayer group than right now! If you're already a member of one make sure you're scheduled to meet soon; if you have yet to find your people please fill out our Prayer Group Questionnaire to get plugged in.
Prayer Time
We are going to build some extended time of prayer into our Sunday Gatherings. A time for you to pray in the church, pray with others, come forward for prayer, even come to the altar to pray/meet with the Lord!

Jun 29-Jul 5
The Psalms were inspired by God for the purpose of being spoken and sung back to God.
Week 6: Pray the Bible

Week 7: Most Critical Part
Jul 13-19
Right now apply God’s Word to your prayers. Spend 7 minutes in prayer.
Week 8: Evaluate

Prayers that become more about God and less about me; prayer that feels conversational.

George Mueller; Jesus on the Cross; The Book of Acts
“But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your father who sees in secret will reward you.” - Jesus
