TRANSFORMATION
GROUPS

Building community. Shaping spirit.

Refuge Church exists to see the lost Saved, the Saved TRANSFORMED, and the TRANSFORMED Sent!

Transformation is the process of a Christian becoming more like Christ.
Transformation takes place as we walk with Christ according to His Word.
Transformation happens in Gospel Community.
Transformation prepares us to be Sent!

Primary Purposes of Transformation Groups

  • Gather together to be transformed into the image of Christ by the Word & Spirit of God.  (2 Corinthians 3:18)
  • Gather to pray. (James 5) (Matthew 18:20)
  • Gather to be known, be together and grow in community. (Romans 12:15)
  • Gather to GO.  (Matthew 28:18-20)

Rules for Transformation Groups

Facilitators

Each group has a facilitator, someone who takes responsibility for the group in making sure they meet and stay on task. All facilitators must complete a short training; check the Events calendar for upcoming sessions.

Cadence

Each group will meet for 2 semesters per year, with the goal of meeting 2-3 times per month. These 2 semesters take place February-May and August-November, breaking in summer and over holidays (if desired).

Materials

Transformation Groups are to use the text from previous Sunday(s), as well as the notes emailed out each Monday from the sermon to assist in facilitating discussion around what Refuge is currently studying together as a Church.
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:2)
