VALUES

THE GOSPEL TRANSFORMS EVERYTHING
The Gospel is Jesus in my place. As a result of my sin, Jesus died in my place so that I could spend eternity with Him.

When we believe this gospel message, it changes everything about us.  Romans 5:8 states: But God demonstrated His love for us, that while we were still in sin, Christ died for us.  God chooses to love us, even at our worst.
DISCIPLESHIP STARTS AT HOME
Matthew 28 gives the command for believers to make disciples of Jesus, of all nations.  This command of discipleship begins in homes around tables, in living rooms, and with families.  Deuteronomy 6 and Psalm 127, teach us that we are called to make our disciples of ourselves and our families first.
GO NOT GROW
The call to GO and make disciples is the call and commandment of each and every Christian and should be placed as primary in the life of believers. GO always takes priority over Grow, when we GO we grow.
MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS ON MISSION
God has placed you where you are, where you live, where you work, even in your neighborhood on a mission.
God has placed you there to bring the gospel there, bringing the light of the gospel to dark places.
FIGHTING FOR AN ETHNICALLY DIVERSE CHURCH THAT REFLECTS OUR VALUES
Revelation 5 gives us a picture of Heaven, that we will worship together in Heaven as every tribe, every tongue, and every nation. Refuge Church is a Church that reflects our ethnically diverse future in Heaven.
SERVE, FOSTER, ADOPT, OR DISOBEY
James 1:27 is the command to the church to take care of the orphan and widow.  Today there are more than 140 million orphans in the world today and the Church has the responsibility to love them, serve them, and share the gospel with them.
LOVE THE CITY & BE LOVED BY THE CITY
As a Church, we pray and put ourselves in a position to be the first call from the city in a time of need.
TAKE THE GOSPEL WHERE IT IS NOT
Today there are more than 2 billion people on earth that have no access to the gospel.  We also have neighbors, that we interact with daily that have never heard the gospel.  We have the mission of taking the gospel where it’s not, whether in the 10-40 Window or by just walking next door.
GOD'S WORD DIRECTS OUR LIVES
As Christians, we live according to and with lives submitted to God and His Word. In light of that, Christian can put their full hope and trust in allowing God’s Word to direct their lives. The Psalms teach that God’s Word is a “lamp to my feet and light to my path,” God’s Word can be trusted to guide our lives in the day to day, in the storms of life and as we walk in obedience and faithfulness to Him.
AUTHENTIC COMMUNITY
Ephesians 2 tells us, because of what Jesus did… We are: together with Christ, together in Christ, together for the Kingdom, together to do good works.  To attempt to live the Christian life alone is self-centered and sinful.
